The name of the NERBS GWA Blanks says it all. That old school feel of glass rods that so many love in the top 75% of the blank, combined with a strong back end in the bottom 25%. These blanks have a smooth transition from glass to carbon/graphite, and they do not bend into the handle/reel seat.
While these blanks are designed at 8', we know that builders and fishermen might need to cut them from the tip or butt to dial them in - this was taken into consideration in the design of these blanks. They can be cut from the butt to 7' without losing power, and they are still stiff enough to not bend under the seat. The ratings chart shows the weight of the blanks when cut to different lengths.
Tip sizes on the 800, 801, and 802 vary from blank to blank by one size, which is why there are 2 numbers on the chart. These blanks are painted gloss black, and if necessary, you can lightly hand-sand the tip with 150 grit to achieve a better fit.
The NERBs blanks have created a unique rating system: the standard casting lure rating, as well as the sinker rating for bottom fishing.
